In terms of academic background, Dr. Mathew Jacob pursued MD (General Medicine) subsequent to MBBS and supplemented it further with a PG Diploma course in Diabetology. Moreover, Dr. Mathew underwent several privileged certificate courses encompassing Insulin Pump therapy and Continuous glucose monitoring system (TOTALL Institute), Echocardiography (MMM, Chennai), Palliative care (RCC, Trivandrum), Advanced Clinical course on Cardiology (Cleveland, USA) thus boosting his knowledge and skills to an advanced level.
Dr. Mathew’s extensive career comprises of abundant work experience at prestigious institutions in Kerala such as KIMS (Trivandrum), PRS Hospital (Trivandrum), St. Joseph’s Hospital (Dharmagiri), and Vijaya Hospital. Dr. Mathew also renders services to Life Insurance Co-operation of India as their authorized Medical Examiner.
Currently, Dr. Mathew serves as the Managing Director and also heads the center for Medicine and Diabetes of Rapha MediCenter (Kottarakkara) with consultation timings between 8.00am to 10.00am and from 3.00pm to 7.00pm which can be availed of with a prior appointment. Alternatively, Dr.Mathew serves as a Senior Consultant Physician and Diabetologist at Kerala’s speciality Aroma Medical Centre (Kottarakkara). His appointment timings at the aforementioned centre are scheduled between 10.30pm to 2.00pm.
Rapha Medi Center is multi-speciality centre located at Kripa Nagar, Lotus Road, Kottarakkara providing full-fledged personalized diabetes care with the aid of latest treatment modalities and investigation facilities like Insulin pump services, Ambulatory glucose monitoring system, Ambultory blood pressure monitoring device, Retinopathy clinic, Diabetic counsellor, Dietician consultation, Diabetic foot clinic, to briefly mention a few. Dr.Mathew also shares the responsibility as the honourable Trustee of RELIEF (Rapha Relief), a non profitable and charitable trust formed to help the needy of the society.
Dr. Mathew had been honoured several times for the excellence in the field of Medicine and for the service to the community. The prestigious Gandhi Bhavan Ministers Award, Mar Epiphanios Award for the excellence in the field of Medicine and Diabetology, Marthoma Jubilee Award are the few among them.
Over and above this, Dr. Mathew is a prominent member of several medical societies including Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Physicians of India (API), Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), Indian Thyroid Society, Physician’s Club of Kollam and Kottarakara.
